Great location! We loved walking to the beaches down the many steps to the beauty. We surfed epic waves. Spent hours sitting on beach. Hiking different trails was fun. There are many things to do. We enjoyed the area allot!

Breathtaking views!
Adorable little rustic cottage with big windows all around to take in the views. Hosts were extremely responsive to our inquiries. The landscaping was just gorgeous!! The shower is literally the size of a telephone booth, but other than that we loved everything about our stay. Close proximity to so many trails through the redwoods as well as beaches allowed us to hike nearly every day, which our dogs loved. We recommend the Seascape Restaurant and the seafood salad at Murphy's!

Getaway to the Lost Coast
This property and experience far exceeded our expectations. You cannot beat the location or view - the property is beautiful; the hosts reached out prior to our stay to communicate an issue with the propane - would mean no hot water / no cooking the first night. They offered to put us up at another property, but given the heat/ac still worked as did the microwave - we opted to stay. Could not ask for better hosts or hospitality. Property grounds are beautiful; the small cottage has everything we needed --- including a stunning view! We are already looking to plan our next trip.

Our stay at the Luffenholtz cabin
This was our 2nd stay at the cabin and it was just as enjoyable as the first time! The cabin has everything you need and is so darling and comfortable! And then there are the views which go on forever and never get old! If this is someone’s first time to the beautiful town of Trinidad I would highly recommend the Luffenholtz cabin! You’ll be close to everything yet the cabin feels very private, it’s the perfect getaway!

Small, romantic & wow, what a view!
Beautiful, clean, small house with incredible ocean views. Kitchen is small but adequate - perhaps could use better lighting. Lots of spices but no cooking oil provided. Inconvenient, but the market is only a 7-8 min drive. (Great local seafood). Local beaches & viewpoints just a few minutes away. Also the walk around Patrick Head highly recommended. More great ocean views (plus we saw a whale). Bathroom shower also small but adequate, & bathroom could also use better lighting. Did not use/stay in the newer addition with the half bath, but looks quite nice. The view is the star of the show. Rained lots while we were there - but didn't take away from our enjoyment. Would have loved to spend time lounging on the deck: I can only imagine how nice that is when the sun shines. Very romantic, albeit somewhat quirky due to the size. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful property
We loved our stay in this cabin! Check-in was easy and seamless. The property was clean and we felt safe the entire time we were there (3 nights over MLK weekend). It was warm and cozy and a perfect location for exploring the beach. Driving around to hiking spots was not difficult either. I loved having my morning coffees on the deck overlooking the beach! We will definitely be adding this to the list of future places to stay when we visit Humboldt.

Loved it
The place is intimate, cozy and amazing. Clearly they tried to make sure we had everything we needed, including up-to-date spices, a great kitchen, etc. The view is tremendous. My only constructive comment would be to have a floor lamp somewhere in the living room as at night, reading is difficult unless you are in bed. Thank you and we hope to come again.

A DREAM LOCATION! Views and Sounds of the ocean-incredible!!
Home was perfect and private! Stunning stay!! Beautiful home nestled on a sea cliff overlooking sea stacks scattered in the ocean! It’s a WOW! Local vibe a few miles away, along with the local and yummy culinary scene. Small and intimate. Day trips in every direction!! Surrounded by the Redwood Giants❤️. One of the best stays EVER.

Excellent getaway
The location was cozy and comfortable. Fantastic views, sounds and Luffenholtz beach right below for a late afternoon stroll. Property was well kept and did have the “cottage” feel. Owners and property managers were pleasant. We will be back:)

Charming cottage on the ocean
My husband and I had a wonderful 5 days at the Luffenholtz Surfside Cottage! It was a darling little place, perfect for a couple. It had everything you would need for a relaxing getaway! The view of the ocean was unbelievable, nicer even then the pics show. Plus it had a wraparound deck and wraparound windows so you had a view from every part of the cottage and property. It was very private, only other house was quite a ways away and you could barely see it. There was a road right below but there wasn’t much traffic on It and you couldn’t even see it because of a high hedge hiding it. So really the only sounds you heard were the sounds of the ocean and birds, so relaxing! There are some little bunnies living in the hedge, they would come out during the day to eat the grass and sun themselves, very cute! The town of Trinidad was very close by and easy to get to. They had some nice restaurants, a grocery store and a couple of touristy shops that sold some very nice jewelry, wind chimes and other items. We had a wonderful time and hope to return someday!
