"This is a fantastic hotel which me and my wife would thoroughly recommend. Owner Jill could not have been more helpful, with a room upgrade. Cooked Breakfast was hot, and the fruit selection first class. You would find some of the other hotels more expensive and offer you a lot less. This hotel was first class all the way."

"We had booked a twin room, however on the day of arrival the owner has painted the room, so we ended up both been put in double rooms. The rooms we stayed in were very clean, offered tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite. "

"We stayed at The Central because of its convenient location for the Stephen Joseph Theatre. We were lucky to find parking directly in front of the hotel and purchased a discounted parking permit from the hotel. There are plenty of parking garages nearby as well. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful. The room on the third floor was a decent size with all the basics including an ironing board and iron. "We had a one night stop over. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room very clean, bed comfortable. In a quiet place. Plenty of tea and coffee. We were given a parking permit which was a nice touch. Arrived late afternoon took a walk down to the esplanade which was lovely lit up. "

"Really comfy place. Room was spot on. When the gentleman showed me the room. He noticed a mark on the duvet. (It was nothing really). It looked like they’d maybe rested the vacuum on the bed & it had left a bit of dirt. The gentleman changed the duvet cover there & then. I ordered my breakfast & unfortunately I slept in. When I left I apologised & they couldn’t have been nicer about it. Spot on place , would stay again."

"Really good B&B. A few minutes walk to the Spa. Town a little further, but an easy stroll overall. All staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast food hot and tasty. Everywhere cleaned to a very high standard."

"This hotel was built in 1844 and the spa is on the lowest floor, but it’s comfortable, the pool looks lovely and the jacuzzi is huge. We also liked the steam room, 2 saunas and ice cave with a swirl of cool mist as you walk in. It’s Victorian in feel, lots of tiles but great for what we wanted. Our double standard room with a sea view was spacious and the view spot on. Staff friendly and efficient."

"I'd read the previous reviews before booking here so this is an up-to-date review now for everyone! 1. Over a few days, I found out from random people that the area DID have a dodgy reputation so possibly the previous reviews are fair. "The hotel was very pleasant generally, but unfortunately we were put into a room which seemed to have been forgotten. The radiator did not work and the room could only be heated with a convection heater, the cleaning was inadequate and the kettle contained so many bits of questionable matter that we did not risk using it."
