Perfect Desert Getaway!
We recently stayed at this desert rental, and it exceeded all my expectations! The property was beautifully maintained, with stunning views and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions and enjoying the tranquility of the desert. The host was incredibly responsive and provided excellent recommendations for local activities and dining. We especially loved the outdoor space for stargazing at night. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing escape!

Relaxing stay
My family had the best time at the Villa. My adult kids pretty much spent the entire week in the pool. We hiked the 49 palms hike, which was so pretty and saw so much wildlife in the area. Dale was an excellent host and we enjoyed hearing about his plans and the new Villa.

Profound property!
Life becomes rich when you stay in beautiful places and meet interesting people. If you’re a creative family and would like an experience that is not cookie cutter, you will enjoy this property! The location of the home situated adjacent to huge boulders was truly profound. Our seven-year-old daughter’s highlight was climbing the boulders and exploring the cave and of course swimming in the salt water pool. She said she wanted to stay and build a tiny home on the cliff overlooking the pool! We will cherish our experience in Joshua Tree. Dale was a kind and interesting host, his passion and creativity was a true inspiration.

Great Getaway from the City
The property is nestled against Joshua Tree National Park. It feels secluded but it is only a 10-minute drive to civilization. There are plenty of grocery stores, dining options and shops nearby. That said, you are far enough from the main highway to hear silence and enjoy the serenity of the night sky. The property is well kept, and the owner is very hospitable. He met us at the property and gave us a tour highlighting all the available amenities including showing us nearby hiking trails and how to access the on-property cave. He is available for questions and easy to get along with. I would definitely stay there again.

Desert Sanctuary
This was our third time at Dale's place, we love the solitude and the desert landscape. The rocks behind the house are a wonderful playground. Dale has done a great job of creating outdoor spaces for relaxing and socializing. The pool area is one of the most beautiful I have seen.

Amazing hiking getaway
Dale has an amazing property with great history. We loved the personal tour he gave upon arrival. Ask him about his career in the movies. We booked for 4 nights and went hiking 3 days including a hike right out the back of the property on the first day. This house is an obvious labor of love, well equipped, and a short drive from the amenities of town. Also, a short drive to one of the national park entrances. If hiking, check out Arch Rock and Eagle Cliff Mine (if your'e feeling adventurous). There is plenty to explore on the property as well as Rocky View LoopTrail that can be accessed from the back of the property in the park. We recommend this secluded unique home to anyone that wants to visit Joshua Tree National Park.

Comfortable getaway
We had a great time in Joshua Tree and felt very comfortable at Dale’s home. We built a fire several evenings and sat in the jacuzzi… wonderful! The house is a bit old fashioned and lovely with the art and books all around. Very private. The pool area is beautiful but it was too chilly for us to swim. Dale is a great guy!

Relaxing Joshua Tree Oasis
Property is in a beautiful location against the boulders of Joshua Tree. The pool and hot tub are set into the rocks as shown in the pictures. The house has all the amenities necessary for a trouble free and serene stay and the beds were very comfortable. Grocery stores and shops are a few minutes away, however, the property is far enough away to provide a tranquil, relaxing experience. Dale is a very interesting host and is available a short distance away to answer any questions. This was the perfect location for a family weekend.

Started with opening night of the U2 sphere residency, followed by a day in the Joshua Tree National Park. Found this cute place near the park with a wonderful backyard and on site hiking. Want to come back and stay longer!

Magical Joshua Tree Property
What more can I say that has not already been said? This property, and the owner, Dale, are truly special. Affectionately named Villa de Fiori, I first discovered this property a few years ago while searching for VRBO homes near National Parks. I am so glad I saved it as a favorite and finally decided to book it this summer. My husband and I have 6 children (aged 12 to 1.5 years old) and we travel a considerable amount. Villa de Fiori surpassed our expectations. This place is not only beautiful, it is magical. What makes it so? Villa de Fiori is a labor of love, inside and out; it reflects many years of time and energy devoted to fulfilling Dale’s vision for the property. We enjoyed visiting Joshua Tree Park and doing all sorts of things locally (a jeep tour, rock climbing, and star gazing), but mostly, we really enjoyed staying at Villa de Fiori. This is an eclectic, practical home filled with wonderful art, photos, and an extensive library. Guests will be happy to find a well-stocked home that provides everything you might need (and then-some). We were happily surprised that there were plenty of toiletries, products, and all kinds of houseware items available for us to use. The hot tub and pool areas are spectacular. All the boulders and caves kept us busy as we climbed, explored, and built fires. We enjoyed Villa de Fiori so very much that we are already planning to come back! This is a one-of-a-kind property and experience.

Incredible oasis!
What an incredible experience we had staying in this beautiful home! The love, care and hard-work that has gone into this villa will leave you speechless. Dale has created an oasis in the middle of harsh, dry terrain. Growing flowers you’d never expect to see in a desert! His story is fascinating and his brilliance evident in the home he’s spent decades creating. The swimming pool surrounded by huge boulders was enjoyed by all of us, especially in the heat wave Joshua tree was having. It was our anniversary while we were there and my husband picked the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. Dale is so generous and tells you to pick whatever you want. We also collected some fresh rosemary to make our favorite recipe - rosemary potatoes. Truly there are no words for the beauty that surrounds you. Thank you Dale, for meeting you and for sharing your home, garden and story with us.

This was truly the most relaxing vacation that I can remember. No kids, no people, no stress.
The property was perfect for us. We hiked from the house to the valley above. We saw 7 big horn sheep and a baby. The big horns came within 50 yards of where we were sitting. Bring some water and snacks on your hike because you will want to stay and enjoy. The pool and hot tub were great. We spent a lot of time out there enjoying the scenery and stars at night. The baby quail and their mother could be seen in the garden area. Lots of different outdoor spaces for dinner and coffee. I can’t say enough about how peaceful it was. I be can’t think of a better place to unwind and recharge. Thank you Dale for this great retreat and being such a wonderful host. Chuck & Bridget Adinolfi

Amazing location, Be prepared for a longer than typical welcome / tour of the property, very informative, but about 45 minutes to an hour long. Schedule accordingly if you are planning dinner once you get there ( 5:00 pm check in). About 20 minutes back to Yucca Valley or 15 minutes out to 29 Palms, so not a huge issue. The backyard of this property is the selling point. We hiked into the valley right behind the pool. Kids and I loved it, while wifey relaxed in the hammock reading a book in peace. The home itself is quaint, there are a lot of books and artifacts around the home. Not a place for toddlers or small inquisitive children, unless they are constantly supervised. Great Location for family decompression, no streaming services or live tv, which was wonderful. TV to watch vhs and dvd is there with a selection of movies.

The best place to stay in Joshua Tree
If you are looking for an idyllic setting on the border of the park, look no further. There is no place like this in terms of location. The backyard is a beautiful boulder field that leads right into park land if you are into hiking on boulders, which we are. Looking around at other properties, there is nothing else like this in terms of the beauty of the landscape. We saw mountain sheep climbing just behind the house and were visited by a kit fox at dusk. The view of the stars from the immaculately kept hot tub is amazing. It is so quiet. A one-of-a-kind getaway. The owner is great and responsive it you need anything. He can recommend hikes in the area away from crowds. If you do go into the main park, it is just a 20 minute drive to the west entrance. The photos are accurate and will give a good idea of what is available in the house. I recommend this place whole heartedly, and will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this special Joshua Tree residence. Situated in amongst unique huge boulders lining the back perimeter of the property, this property had it all. Pool, jacuzzi, outdoor BBQ all boosting incredible views which was shown to us by the very courteous and friendly owner Dale. Adder Note: To the back of the property, there is a hidden cave which we all hung out in while sitting around the fire we made. Amazingly we saw a kit fox looming in amongst the high rocks, illuminated by the full moon. Very Special Experience and will be back again. 5 Stars! and a hidden cave

Fantastic Stay in Joshua Tree
The perfect place! Went to Joshua Tree for a hiking trip. This is definitely the place to stay. The boulders in the back yard were the best thing ever! We went all over and around the boulders and made are way in to Joshua Tree National Park. They can be done by anyone from a beginner to an expert. The house itself was perfect, everything in fine shape. Loved the hot tub and the pool. Dale was very helpful and always available if needed. I plan on going back as soon as I possibly can. 5 stars all around!

A Perfect Stay in Joshua Tree
Dale vets guests personally. He gives a guided tour of the house and property upon arrival. Part history lesson, part library tour. Special furnishings and art, each with its own story. Topped off with a smattering of fascinating family accomplishments. I could listen to him for hours. Dale takes great pride in his home and the area. And why wouldn’t he? It’s a special place. The photos are accurate but you have to be there to truly feel what it’s like. A peaceful oasis set amid the rugged desert. The area hikes, boulder climbing, and cave exploration are spectacular. The private pool is luxurious. The grounds varied and fragrant. And the house is replete with character and charm, a reflection of its owner. Maybe the kit fox will pay you a visit on it’s evening hunt as it did us! Glorious! A perfect stay in Joshua Tree.

Just beyond expectations!
Our group ranged in age from 12 to 74, yet this property had something special for each one. I’ll start by bemoaning that our time in this magical oasis was way too short! We stayed only two nights, but definitely recommend longer, as long as you can stay. If you love peace, quiet, natural beauty, wildlife sightings, starry skies, a gorgeous pool, sparkling hot tub, easy hikes or more challenging boulder hopping, this is your place! All 7 of us were enchanted and fell in love with the property. The owner graciously provided a personal tour upon arrival to show us important features of the property, and interesting historical tidbits about his family’s homestead there. You can hike into the adjacent park, climb the boulders in the back yard to great caves, laze by the pool, and if you are lucky (and a bit quiet), you will see wildlife everywhere you look. We hiked a spectacular route the owner recommended, a 5 minute drive from the property. You walk into the park toward a huge outcrop of boulders, and as you gain elevation you can see the entire valley, surrounded by a ring of gorgeous mountains. The hike is easy to moderate, or you can make it much more challenging by actually climbing on the boulders. Our pre-teen kids and an adult climbed the boulders behind the house to the top, and they were so excited about their cave-filled rock-climb afterwards! This hike, literally right in the backyard, was the hi-light of the trip for all 3! The house is charming, very comfortable for seven of us. We used the comfy double sofa bed in living room, and the other three beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need. It is stocked with utensils and Spices galore. We barbecued both nights on the gas grill, as we sipped margaritas on the terrace just outside the kitchen. Every am, we enjoyed our coffee out there as the sun rose on the boulders. We used the hot tub at night, and it was just magical. We were all awed, seeing a sky we had forgotten exists. I could go on and on, but you really have to experience this property for yourself. If you want a 5-star experience, this is it. The beautiful private pool (not an unfiltered tin bucket!) and hot tub simply cannot be matched, both nestled in a circle of huge boulders. Hilton Hotels must be jealous! Our thanks to Dale, the owner, for an unforgettable weekend. Just GO, you won’t regret it!

High Desert Oasis in the rocks
We spent our weekend at Dale's place enjoying the late summer heat. We enjoyed the tucked-away location of Dale's sprawling property and the many mature trees and plants. Don't settle for a cowboy bathtub pool when you can have Dale's incredible inground, large, perfect depth saltwater pool. Our last night was our favorite; we sat outside and watched as a short bust of rain turned the clouds into a long, lazy, spectacular rosy-glow sunset. Our Joshua Tree weekend was time well spent recharging in nature, something we all needed. Thanks, Dale

Magic Under the Stars!
Panorama Heights was a magical get away! Floating in the beautiful pool tucked into the rocks and under the stars was an absolutely dreamy way to experience Julian! The home was charming and Dale was very helpful. Our entire family of 6 had a delightful time. Thank you, Dale!
