"It was our 1 year anniversary and wanting to relax out of Dallas Metro area. It was quiet and the birds/squirrels were fun to watch. Owners of the outpost were helpful and a pleasure to visit with. When I messaged the property owners, they responded quick and were nice. However, the cabin we stayed in smelt a bit funky when we got there like mildew. The bathroom floor was gross sticky in front of the toilet and look around we felt we needed to give a good cleaning before we unpacked. Drove back...

"This is a beautiful cabin in a prime spot on Caddo Lake! Our grandchildren loved their "game room" as they called it. We enjoyed early morning fishing in our pajamas out at the private dock while we watched the sun rise and had a great time canoing and kayaking in the canoes and kayaks that were provided. "The hosts live super close and we met them right away. Keith was about to go for a ride in his mud boat and asked us to join him. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed this. We seen parts Caddo Lake that most people will never see. Our room was super clean and quiet. The property is beautiful with a large well kept lawn that leads you right to the water. I can’t say enough good things about this lodge and the hosts. I hope we get to go again soon. Thank you both so such a wonderful weekend!...

"The room was small but clean and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the easy lake access, where we were able to leave the boat in the water at their small dock. Just to note, in case you miss the fine print, this is a lodge where half of the rooms front the lake and the other half from the street. You’re still able to use all amenities and the owners were very accommodating and friendly!"

"What a Gem! The house was clean and comfortable and the screened in porch was huge! Steps to a beautiful tributary! My wife was reluctant at first about kayaking but after a little reassurance she climbed into her own kayak. It was an amazing place to kayak the cypress trees were abundant and beautiful I took so many pictures! Ten minute paddle to get to the main Bayou River…unreal! Don’t skip the kayaking it’s impressive. My only regret was I did not see an alligator my wife was relieved 😅...

"My husband and I stayed at the Marseilles at the French Cottages in Jefferson. It was such a charming little cottage. It had everything we needed. It was quiet, clean, close to downtown Jefferson, and very comfortable. We saw deer and many of our favorite birds. I highly recommend!"
