5 of us gathered at this charming historic home for a long weekend. 4 adults and 1 tween.
The house was as it appears in the listing. Neat to be in such an old home, but with air conditioning and a pool!! The other house in the property was not in use so we had the pool and yard to ourselves. We didn’t linger outside much longer than our trips to the pool as it was very hot (visited in Aug) and most of us are not keen on bugs (mosquitos and horseflies), but we weren’t bothered by them in the pool.
The house was generally clean but could have used a more extensive dusting in windowsills and such. We were also quite surprised to see a tree fell on the house *with no damage to the house* but was still lying on the house. So we opted to not use the spare room under the tree.
There could be some upgrades to the kitchen tools available. There was just one pan for cooking so it made things quite difficult and slow when cooking meals for 5… and only part of the grill worked, but it was nice to have a (partial) grill.
I’d recommend if you’re cool with historic places that have quirks (squeaky floors, loud door latches, etc).
