A short stay

Vass Property
This property is in a beautiful wooded location. It is very private. It is set up well for a family gathering. It has a large kitchen and several eating areas. The bedrooms are separated on opposite sides of the house to provide privacy. There are bathrooms for each bedroom. There are two living areas which gives guests a chance to spread out. This layout was wonderful for a family gathering.

Successful Thanksgiving Visit
My family was visiting our son who is stationed at Ft Bragg (Liberty) over Thanksgiving. Successfully prepared and hosted dinner! Our family enjoyed the learning about the history of the house and the plans for the dam repair. The house was comfortable with plenty of rooms and we were fascinated by some of the older books in the large collection. We also brought our dogs with us which was nice! One of the previous reviews mentioned a fenced backyard- just wanted to clarify that it does not have one (not an issue for the listing just wanted to prepare others that might bring their dogs). We have a portable electric fence/collar system so it wasn’t a problem. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to a few questions that I had. Beautiful sunsets every night from the back deck. Overall a great stay…will be perfect when the dam repair is complete!

Birthday weekend!
The pool was perfect and a beautiful spot to watch the sunsets. The pool table was definitely an added bonus. The house offered plenty of space. Easy drive to Pinehurst and many other golf courses. It was a great getaway from MI to have a family visit with our son who lives in Greensboro.

Pool was great! Everyone loved it. Very spacious for the whole family. Very private. Quiet community. Few items in the kitchen need updating, if you plan to cook. We had the whole family, so we did a lot of cooking.

Fort Bragg Visiting Mom
My stay was perfect! I was looking for something peaceful for a 9 day visit with my daughter who is stationed at Fort Bragg. While she worked during the day on base, I also worked from the house. Wifi was fast. The location gave us a place to escape at the end of the day, have dinner and hang out. The property owners were immediately responsive to all questions I had reached out with. I’d definitely stay again! Thank you Kate and Corey for sharing your property. It was a great trip!

Very well-maintained home with a cool mid-century modern aesthetic. Short walk to Red's Corner beer garden and food truck outpost-a must see. HUGE fenced backyard which our pups enjoyed. Would book again

overall it is good. 35 minutes from Fort Bragg. Very nice owners!
My son left a poster and the owner was very helpful mailing it to him. Nice comfortable layout of the house. Outdoor furniture could use an upgrade, BBQ needs new wire brush, chalk for pool table, but overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Kate!

Family Vacation!!
Our family of 5, plus our dog, had a fantastic vacation in this wonderful home. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing. The house is well kept and spacious. The pool was awesome and refreshing. The kids enjoyed being in the pool everyday. We would love to come back again!! Beautiful House with clean pool
My family loved the stay at this wonderful property. When arriving there was a little bump on the driveway that you have to be careful of. The multi-floor layout was perfect for privacy. The master bedroom is on the first level and the rest of the bedrooms are below. The furniture is very homey and comfortable. The amenities were clean and easy to use. The hosts were wonderful! We will be back again.

Everything about this property was excellent. Communications with the owner, check-in instructions, size, value, and amenities. The house was so perfect, with so much space for getting together or having privacy. Perfect for my group of 5 adults. Such a peaceful, quiet, private setting! Great place to stay and enjoy privacy!
This house was perfect for our family of 7. The house was big enough with lots of indoor/outside space. It never felt crowded. You could not see or hear the neighbors. The owners were quick with responses to our questions. Our only disappointment was the pool lights weren't working. The lights did not keep us from enjoying the pool or the house. Would definitely stay again!

Poolside Get Away
It was a great experience. Kitchen is well stocked. Really enjoyed the views of the remainder of Surf Lake. The solitude was phenomenal. Fishing was great. Our son is a paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg and we were able to watch jumps right from the back yard. Definitely would rent again and recommend.

Beautiful setting, comfortable house
We had a comfortable stay in this beautiful house. It is nicely furnished, and has nice views towards what remains of Surf Lake. Even though the weather was rainy, the views were nice. The kitchen was fully equipped and the boys enjoyed the downstairs game consoles. I would definitely recommend this place you to a friend.

Great summer getaway - - lots of amenities!
This vacation home is a great getaway for any situation whether families with kids, couples getaway or golfers.  The bedrooms and baths are all at the opposite ends of both the upper level (master) and lower level (2 bedrooms) so plenty of sleeping and bathroom privacy. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking up a storm including plenty of extras that other vacationers have left for use.  There's also two screened porches (one upper level and one lower level) to enjoy the weather without any bugs. There is plenty of entertainment for everyone!The pool is great summertime fun and deep enough for diving.  There's also pool toys.  The home also has a lot of games and books along with the pool table on the lower level.  We also walked around the lake each morning and while no sidewalks, the community seemed very aware of walkers and drove accordingly. Kate is easy to work with and a fast communicator in case you need anything or have questions.  As Kate has noted on the listing, the lake is drained and golf course closed so don't expect those.
