I purposely noted in my booking that we were staying SPECIFICALLY for the hot tub and I needed to be sure it worked. It didn't work, and they knew this way ahead of time. The only thing that worked was the heat and 4 of the 50+ jets in the tub on the back wall where you couldn't even sit. It was also filthy, full of some sort of hair - probably a dog, and sand all over the bottom. They came the second day we were there, under the pretense of looking at the hot tub, but all they did was wipe up the dog hair we strained from the water and left on the tub, and dumped more chlorine into it, which only resulted in a nasty slick extra foaming on the surface of the water.
Owners knew the tub wasn't working when I booked, said nothing because they knew once I got there it would be too late. I know this because they admitted they knew a "few" jets weren't functioning. Only 4 out of 50+ jets working is not a "few" dysfunctional jets. That is more than 90% of the tub not working. Then they tried to use the excuse that we were there "right after the high season" ... so I guess somehow it's our fault for being dumb enough to book a beach house after the "high season"???
All replies to my complaints were polite and given same day, however it was just a series of polite "We're sorry you're disappointed, but it's not our fault, we hope you enjoyed your stay and will come again". :-/
Don't book if you want the tub. Area is isolated. Permanent neighbors are rude.
