Great spot for a Volcano National Park visit!
Perfect spot for us before starting out to VNP! Quiet, with all the little touches that made us super comfy. Our host was quick to answer questions before our trip so we could enjoy ourselves fully.

Close to Kilauea
Joel delivered as advertised. Wife and I wanted to take quick trip to see the eruption at Kilauea. The property was about 10 min. from Volcanoes National Park and this fit the bill after some long hours volcano watching.

This place was in a great location if you wanted to visit the Volcano National Park. This was literally a 7 mins drive and if you're interested in playing golf, it was 5 mins away. The unit is attached to the Joel's house so, we had to be mindful of keeping things down (not that we're loud people but wanted to be respectful). There was a microwave, a good size mini fridge, some plastic utensils, cutting knife/board, wine opener, disposable plates and cups! Coffeemaker was available and pods. The heated towel rack was a bonus!!! Joel was super kind and got us some milk and cookies from his neighbor the one morning since we forgot to get some! I would recommend you staying here if you had only a couple of days to explore the area!

Perfect location and great communication!
This is the perfect spot to stay if you want a bit more time to explore Volcanoes National Park and beat the crowds. Joel was great with communication and recommendations and as he said, we won the volcano lottery when the crater started erupting the morning we arrived!

Super stay on our short visit to Volcano
Stayed here on our short trip to the national park. It was a perfect location and a lovely little place that was easy to locate, yet perfectly quiet. Joel was really communicative and answered all my questions and gave advice on where to visit and the weather conditions. It was a perfect location for the night - thank you!

Great location!
Wonderful little spot right in Volcano. The hosts gave us excellent hiking recommendations. The volcano Winery is walking distance. The bed was comfortable and we were plenty worm enough with the heater. 10/10 would stay here again

Perfect for an overnight to Volcano National Park
Was about a 5 minute drive to park, was well outfitted with everything you need after a day hiking. Wonderful shower, and towel heater. Would stay there again.

Ohana home near Volcano
We spent a few nights here to explore Volcano and Hilo areas after a few days on the Kona coast. The area is at about 4000 ft elevation, so expect cooler temperatures and rain now and then. This property is a very comfortably appointed guest quarters with it's own private entry and covered parking spot within Joel's home. He is such a a welcoming and friendly host, it quickly felt like staying with family! He has thought of all the welcoming touches, from plenty of coffee for the Keurig, cold filtered water in the fridge, wonderful bath products in the shower, extra amenities should you have forgotten anything under the bathroom vanity, and even a photo album with probably every brochure for every attraction in the area. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property and host!

Volcano Gem
My husband and I stayed at Joel’s for one night. We wanted to do some exploring on the Hilo side of the island. The proximity to the park was a real plus. The room itself was very cozy. It had everything we needed, and it was very tastefully decorated. If we’d had more time I would have liked to have taken a walk around the neighborhood. Joel was very easy to communicate with. I would stay here again.

Great little studio
It had everything we needed for our one night in volcano. He even had flashlights we could borrow. Joel was very accommodating and let us drop our bags a few hours early so we could hit the trails earlier. Thanks again for a great stay!

Great location to visit Volcano National Park
This property was exactly as presented. Many thoughtful amenities were provided, such as flashlights, coffee, fridge, microwave, kitchen basics, chilled ice water and towel warmers plus suggestions for area meals and shopping. The property was very close to the park entrance. It was perfect for our short stay in Volcano.

Great stay close to the National Park
This is a great property just a few minutes away from the national park. The place was super clean and had everything and more you would ever need to stay there. Joel gave us hiking suggestions, and a great pizza place at volcano lodge. We would definitely recommend his place to anybody staying in the area.

Highly recommend
What a wonderful place to stay near Volcano National Park! It was in a quiet neighborhood very conveniently located to the park (and near a cute little winery). The amenities were very much appreciated (filtered water, coffee, bowls/utensils for our breakfast) and we loved the decor. We slept very well in the comfortable king size bed. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting the national park.

Awesome location
Great location for exploring Volcanoes Natl Park and Hilo area. The accommodation is awesome! The host provided very thoughtful amenities (water, coffee, tea, snacks, umbrella, beach towels, etc). Very clean and comfortable. Host provided sightseeing suggestions and was easy to reach. We really enjoyed our stay. Definitely a 5-star experience!

We had a Blast…Studio was Bliss!!
We stayed on a sister weekend getaway. We checked in at almost midnight to realize that there was no heat (or central air) in the studio so we got a really good laugh out of it and slept in all the clothes we brought including coats 😂😂 in the morning we message the owner & he quickly brought us a space heater & an additional comforter but the space heater did the trick & the studio was warm in no time. The studio was ultra clean & well appointed with everything you could need, the bed was very comfortable. Microwave & midsize stand up fridge was ice cold! Kerig Coffee Machine Very Clean & coffee tasty (as there are no coffee shops anywhere close by). Other than the late night check in hiccup, our stay was bliss so we definitely give it 5 stars!! Would stay here again if we come back to the big island it was only a few minutes from the entrance of the Volcano NP in a very quiet secluded culd-a-sac. Definitely do not miss out on this affordable comfy rental!

Perfect spot
Everything was wonderful about my stay. Listing is accurate and the place is super convenient in a great little cute neighborhood right by the golf course and winery. Hosts allowed me to use bike and cruise the neighborhood. The property is attached to a home, which was not a problem at all, they were quiet and respectful. Highly recommended.

Cozy spot in a secluded town
Great secluded little ground floor unit bear volcano national park. Perfect for those looking to spend multiple days in the park (which you should), it is only a couple minutes away from the entrance. The host is very knowledgeable about the area and town. Would reccomend to anyone staying on the island.

Great place to stay
The owner was quick to respond and the home was lovely. It is minutes from the entrance to Volcano National Park. One of our days was very rainy and the owner texted that he dropped off a shoe dryer for us in the carport, which ended up being super helpful. The beds were comfy, the home was spacious, and the yard was beautiful.
