Went with friends and spent 2 days on the Shenandoah River via Downriver Canoe Co (they're great, BTW!). Chose this location bc of its proximity to Downriver and beautiful view. Arrived on Friday and used the fire pit to get the coals going, then transfered them to the grilling chimney. The grill grate over there needs replacing but the food was delicious. It rained Sat night and the front porch came in handy to listen to the rain fall. Property is definitely "rustic" but comfortable and not missing anything. Gave 4 stars bc of the bathroom - the shower hardware had a thick layer of soap scum on it and tub needed more attention. Kitchen looked great. Overall, despite the bathroom that just needs a little more elbow grease, the cabin served our purpose well and we'd stay there again. Others said the insects were an issue, but it wasn't for us. We didn't even need bug spray when sitting on the porch.
