Great cabin, poor management service.
Great secluded cabin on the coast. Small trail to the beach. Wonderful setting, but beware, on our stay the property manager only provided 1 roll of TP for a family of four for three days. When I contacted guest services fir more they were basically hostile and totally unaccommodating. Great cabin, very poor management and customer service.

In the woods and by the sea
Beautiful modernized cabin in a wooded setting with ocean views. The cabin is off a main road and there is a neighboring property, however, road noise is faint and the cabin is set lower so the majority of views are only of trees and ocean. There is a path down to the beach. Second time we’ve stayed here and once again enjoyed it very much.

Spectacular setting
We really enjoyed our stay at Shelley Family Cabin. We were blown away by the setting, even from the living room - being able to look out and gaze at the ocean. I loved the sound of the waves as I fell asleep at night. The home was simple and perfect for our needs as a family of 4. Our kids (12 and 14) reluctantly shared a bed but they got over it and enjoyed having their own space in the loft. We would absolutely book this place again if we found ourselves back on the coast!

Forest Foliage, Beach Sunsets, Hammock with Cocoa and Cookies
I had a wonderful time. It was too short to take in all of its natural beauty and charm. I took a flash drive worth of photos. Swung in a hammock, in a forest, overlooking a beach sunset while snug as a bug in a rug, drinking hot cocoa and eating cookies. Spring certainly spung all over the place, blooming flowers, bushes and grass. It was a lush garden cottage out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. There was a second fire pit down the zig zagging trail toward the beach where a big brown bunny greeted me. I drove down the 101 during the day then watched Netflix on the TV at night. Then I drove up to town for local cuisine and the beach front observation park. It's so hidden you might not know it was there. Tucked in the south end of town. Like many of the pull off sightseeing parks, light houses and towns, it's a gem. -Rachel, May 16-18, 2022

Sweet Coastal Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Shelley Family Cabin. The house was just the place we (three adults) had hoped to find for our home base as we explored the mid-coast. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and the grocery was a short drive into Yachats. We had some wonderful meals in town, especiallyThe beds were very comfortable with two people sleeping on the king size bed in the loft and one person in the downstairs bedroom. There were plenty of games (we Scrabbled nightly), WiFi, and a cozy reading nook in the loft, but taking in the gorgeous views from the hammock was my favorite pastime. Our only negative experience was that the property management company emailed us the wrong door code, so we had to wait on hold in our car in the pouring rain at 2am after a cancelled/rebooked flight and the 3 hour drive from Portland. The customer service rep was grumpy and condescending, which made for an unpleasant start to our trip. I sent an email to the company that day and still haven’t received a reply, but happily the cozy cabin and natural beauty all around us were there for us to enjoy regardless! The only improvement suggestion our group has to offer would be safer beach access. We

Beautiful Spot
We loved everything about this place! While it's along the road, it was still very quiet and peaceful. The property is situated off the beach in a beautiful location. Definitely a must stay!

Nice but little issue can be corrected
Upon arrival the entry code didn't work, and since there is no cell or wifi service it took a while to contact someone to help us get access into the cabin. The cabin was a nice quit getaway. As other reviewers stated the furniture was as uncomfortable as stated, please upgrade!!! Fireplace? Even if it is electric you can do better! The shower curtain was covered in black mold along its bottom and appeared to be from a long ago time. But all in all it was a nice place to stay away from the busy town areas. The beach access also was a challenge but we expected that due to other reviewers. The adjoining property has a very nice stairway to the beach, make a deal for use of that? It seems to be managed by the same operation! Regardless the cabin was nice to cook your own meals and rest quietly @

Stellar coastal cabin!
The perfect property to take in the surf, rugged coast, and amazing forests this part of Oregon has to offer. Location was easy to get to and while it's just off 101, gave the impression of being remote and secluded at the same time. Days were spent exploring the nearby hiking trails. Dining take out was a short drive from Yachats and nights spent gazing out the amazing ocean sunset views from the den. Excellent stay!

Best beach cabin in the history of ever
We had a phenomenal experience at this little cabin. It is cozy, tucked up on the hillside, convenient to perpetua trails, 10-15 min south of Yachacts. They had recently hacked back the flora on the (steep) access to a nearly uninhabited beach was thus possible for our family (tween goat-like boys and their moderately agile 40-year-old parents). It was so beautiful that when we first arrived at the beach, our 13-year-old declared it was "the best day of (his) life". We were lucky enough to be there during a super low tide, agates and tidepooling, kite flying, long walks. The lower yard has remnants of a garden - rosemary, mint, kale growing randomly amongst the salal and manroot. The house itself was very comfortable for our family - nice firm queen mattress, cute loft perch, good basic kitchen. We were especially thankful for the camp chairs, hammock, outdoor fire pit for s'mores. One of our best vacations ever. Cheers to the Shelley family!!

The view from the living room area is breathtaking. We had the most beautiful sunset over the ocean which we were able to watch from the property. The kitchen is well equipped and one can watch the ocean while preparing a meal. The loft area is the perfect place to cuddle up and read a book while listening to the ocean waves.

I should have checked further than "Modern oceanfront cottage south of Yachats - views, deck, & firepit" so that's my bad. But the listing said EV charger. No such thing unless you drive north to Yachats. And that one didn't work, as I mentioned at the info desk. Lucky I have a hybrid; with an all electric vehicle I would have been stuck. I knew rain was forecast, but didn't realize I'd have to drive to town, again, to get in any amount of walking. I learned that there was no wi-fi two days before arriving. Perhaps I should have known that having Internet does not always mean having wi-fi. I will check in the future. VRBO didn't mention beach access, so again, perhaps my bad. Again,, I will never reserve again without real researching. And all the emails before my traveling and getting on the road—I don't like PR in any form. It serves the company, not the client. I chalk this trip up to lessons learned, and although the view was exquisite,, I won't be doing this again. And please, do not offer discounts for another trip. All emails will go to my blocked folder. I'm happy to be back home and feeling wiser.

Lovely Cabin on the Coast
I loved everything about this cabin. It was clean, cozy and comfortable. There were plenty of amenities - everything we needed and more. Location was incredible - right on a cliff overlooking the ocean with lots of beaches and hiking trails within a few short miles. My only issue is that the day before we were to arrive, Hwy 101 was closed for emergency repairs. I sent a message to the property manager to find out more about the closure and to get the exact location of the cabin (to determine if I should come from the North or South) and no one ever responded.

Fantastic place
Had an overall great experience with this property. This is a fantastic location with beautiful views as described. The cabin was comfortable and perfect for a family of four (with two young kids). We would definitely stay here again.

Dream away from crowds
Quit and low key place where you can listen to the roar of the ocean waves. Tucked away from the crowds, although Oregon House is immediately next door, at least in early May we didn't see others down on the beach except twice at a distance. Downstairs bed is great for those who like extremely stiff beds. Upstairs twin to king daybed is comfortable, and recommended for those with more sensitive backs. All in all very much a place we'd love to stay again!

Gorgeous oceanfront cabin
We loved everything about this cabin. The location was perfect. Easy to get to Yahats to stock up on seafood and groceries The views are amazing and it was fantastic to have the beach right there! We enjoyed having the fire pit to toast s’mores, it really was an amazing 8 nights. We are hoping to get back there next Spring Break.
