Lovely family get together
We booked two barns to celebrate New Year and my retirement with family. It was a really large space for us all. We had a great stay. Only downside was the barns need a bit of updating. Otherwise perfect for us all.

Easter stay
Fabulous properties, comfortable surroundings and excellently stocked with everything you could need. Great walks and only 15 minutes drive into York. Great pub on the corner of the street….enjoyed by all!

Great weekend!

Large family Christmas Gathering
A great weekend of 22 family members (aged 14 - 59) meeting to spend time and have fun together. Space easily accommodated us all although some couples had to share a bedroom which was okay for us but may not be okay for everyone. The barns were very warm and well furnished. The showers were hot and powerful and the towels were soft. There was nothing missing. We spent a lot of time sat around the large dining table - eating, chatting and craft making. Kitchen was clean and had everything you needed to cook. There was also a lovely large sitting area where we could enjoy family party games. A handy mini supermarket was walking distance and a short drive to the park and ride to York where we had a fantastic day out. All in all a great weekend. The in laws decided straight away they were going to book it again for their side of the family to enjoy for a different weekend away.

A beautiful place and great hosts
We had a wonderful time for my 50th birthday, hiring the hay house and red barn together. None of us wanted to leave. The property is in great condition, responsive and helpful hosts and a lovely location. Thanks Steve, we hope to visit again one day. Highly recommended.

Fantastic stay for a Stag Do
18 of us stayed at the Red Barn and Hay House for a stag do, and it was the perfect accomodation for the occasion. Plenty of rooms, all clean and with comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchens and a games room and gym for great entertainment. Just 20 minutes into York by taxi but located in a quiet village means that you get all the benefits that York provides while still being able to get away from the noise of the city. There's also plenty of parking so it's easy to access by car. Communication from the owner was excellent, lots of really useful information and very quick responses. There are plenty of books and toys for children so it's also a great place to stay for large family get-togethers. I'd highly recommend Red Barn and Hay House for trip away near York.

Lovely property, the photos don’t do it justice. The host Steve lives on the same grounds as the property who is very friendly and responds to text/emails very efficiently. We had a family staycation which included adults and children of varying ages and it suited all.

The best weekend!
Thank you so much Steve and Zeno for a great weekend for my sister’s hen party. We had 24 of us stay across the 2 houses and used the Red Barn as the main area to gather. Everybody said how comfortable they were in their rooms and there was plenty of space for us to get together, eat, dance etc. The houses themselves are in great condition, all very clean and are in a gorgeous location just outside York. We were very grateful for Steve’s help with booking the best taxis to get in and out of York too! Steve welcomed us on arrival and showed us where everything was, which was super helpful. Thank you so much for the lovely welcome basket too. Can’t thank you enough for having us and making it the perfect weekend. We can’t wait to come back again with the girls again and with the family too as it is perfect for all ages. This place is 5 stars! Love from Jess and all the girls from the hen party over the weekend x

Amazing stay!! We rented The Hay Barn, Red Barn and The Lodge for our party of 18!! Steve was very helpful throughout the booking process and on hand if we needed anything! A great party location in a lovely village, half hour taxi ride to York, costing £160 return for 18 of us! Great to consider if you want first class accommodation at a reasonable price! Beautiful Barns, very well equipped, accommodating host!! You won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic place to stay
A large group of us stayed here and we separated over the 2 barns. The barns where very clean when we arrived and the neighbours were very welcoming and easy to talk to. We was left complementary wine a chocolate by the owner which was lovely! The beds were so comfy everyone got a good night sleep every night we stayed. Not got one bad thing to say about the place, we also noticed the barns were very child friendly they had stair gates, high chairs and lots of toys and dvds for children. We will definitely be returning with the family one time.

Great accommodation in a beautiful location
Great 7/8 bedroom accommodation over two barns adjacent to each other. The accommodation was clean and spacious with all the amenities you would expect from a great holiday home. Large kitchen/dining/living area for hosting all guests. The location is in a beautiful village offering local walks and plenty of pubs/ restaurants in and around local villages/towns. Perfect accommodation for our family
This property provided the perfect place in which our family of 10 could spend a few days to celebrate a special birthday. It is comfortable, spacious, clean and beautifully appointed, with all one could need - and more. An added bonus was the gym/games room which was well used by all, despite our age range of 6 to 86. It is well placed for exploring York and surrounding countryside but, as the ages of our 2 youngest members meant going out for an evening meal was difficult, we had a professional chef, Tim, come in to cook us a superb dinner for the birthday. We have no hesitation in recommending both the property and Tim most highly
