If you’re poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But there’s no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks for a worry-free start to your time in Belgrado. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you’ll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don’t forget to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don’t have a pocket knife lurking in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and take a sweater in case you get cold. Pick flat, slightly roomy shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. The great news is there are numerous ways to significantly reduce the risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, get up and walk around the cabin whenever possible and wear compression tights or socks.
