The house is tiny but very cozy and updated nicely. It was clean, colorful and had all of the things we needed for a weekend of adventure on the river. We've stayed in many vacation rentals and were totally impressed with the way this one was stocked with plenty of towels, tp, hand soap, dish soap, spices, cooking needs, etc. The only basic supply we had to buy was paper towels! Truly one of the best rentals we've stayed at in the area. We grew up in Pocahontas County and bring a small group back every Memorial Day to kayak, hike and visit our old "stomping grounds." We will definitely be staying here again!
Some basic pros and cons:
The beds were not comfortable - mattresses sink in the middle and are hard on the back - but for a short trip, they were manageable.
The screened in porch is amazing! Morning coffee time, watching the squirrels and birds was so peaceful out there.
The fire pit even had wood provided!
Outside chairs would be a nice addition by the fire. The one that was there had a large fire ant nest living in the cushion. So maybe some simple benches or wooden chairs for sitting around the fire, but we brought ours since the pictures showed the fire pit without them.
I can't say enough about the supplies that were provided. When you're hauling kayaks, hiking gear, etc. it is so nice not to worry about squeezing those things in.
