We were a party of 5 adults (all over 70), we chose Villa Tolon from the internet because of the view and it boasted 5 bathrooms.
We arrived late at night by taxi from Athens airport and Dimitris, the owner, was waiting for us with the key and to show us around the property.
Our initial impression was of the spaciousness of the villa and all of the balconies, on moving to the large lower verandah, off the lounge, we were delighted to see a huge reddish moon emerging out of the sea over the Argolic Gulf, the view really is wonderful. Add to this the constant sound of the cicadas, the occasional calls of the Scops Owls, the scented air rising from the garden and-the warmth, we knew we were in Greece and were going to enjoy our holiday.
The lounge/dining room/kitchen are large as are the bedrooms, the quaintly designed en-suite shower rooms are rather on the small side but adequate, with plenty of hot water day and night. There are air conditioners in each room, all of them worked well. Outside, the gardens are planted with many trees and the villa is not overlooked at all, it's very private. Dimitris built a new, stylish BBQ during our stay and we made good use of it.
Tolon village is on the coast below the villa, it's a steep road and it takes about 20 minutes to walk down to the sandy beach, longer to come back up. After a couple of days we hired a car which we thought was a necessity although taxis are readily available. The village itself is quite busy and perhaps over developed but we quite liked it, we found several tavernas which were quiet and served very good food, our favourite was "To Steki" which is right on the sandy front, they have quiet, live bouzouki music some evenings, another favourite was "To Neon", again on the beach but closer to the port.
We enjoyed trips to Hydra, driving to Ermioni to catch the 10.10 ferry, Nafplion is a gem, the amphitheatre at Epidavros is well worth a visit. There are many beautiful beaches within easy distance of Villa Tolo, we enjoyed the quiet pebbly beach close to the ancient site of Asine which is a stone's throw from Tolon centre, the taverna "Asine Te" above the beach serves good food.
To summarise Villa Tolon is comfortable and good value, Dimitris was most helpful and kind to us, he wanted us to have an enjoyable holiday.
