My husband and I stayed at Añoranza in June for our honeymoon, and to say we were blown away is an understatement. Not a single detail of the home or the service was overlooked and we felt entirely at ease during our stay.
Upon arriving, our host Robert met us at the gate for a tour of the property. Walking through the main door we were greeted with cocktails made entirely from fresh, local ingredients (which were delicious.) Every single room (including bathrooms) was designed with purpose, decorated comfortably, and provided spectacular views of the ocean. The home sits 150ft above the water, and with floor-to-ceiling windows we were able to clearly watch rays and other marine wildlife swimming off while we stood in the living room. Incredible. While you will need to grocery shop if you plan to cook for yourself, the home has all the appliances/cookware needed to prepare meals and a bar area for drinks. I could go on for days about how spectacular the home was, and when we left to visit the west side of the island all we wanted was to go back.
Now about our host Robert. The level of service he provided was organic and unparalleled, and everything we wanted to do just felt easy. For example, he launched the kayaks for us on the first day and upon our departure asked if we had plans for dinner (we had a nearby restaurant called La Sirena in mind). When we arrived back from kayaking, we had dinner reservations for sunset. He was born and raised on the island, and in addition to the amazing services that Añoranza provides, he had additional recommendations for food, snorkeling, and other activities which did not disappoint and supported locals of the island. Considering tourism drives much of the economy (thus some establishments close on various days at different times of the year), coupled with his extensive experience in customer service, he was very calculated in making recommendations for us. When our stay was over, we mentioned that we were heading to the west side of the island for another few days, to which he provided another recommendation for dinner and drinks. We decided to take him up on his recommendation, and when our bartender got word that we stayed with Robert at Añoranza, he told us that “Robert taught me everything I know”, and before we knew it we had a free appetizer and dessert at our table. Our experience at Añoranza was one of the nicest we’ve ever had traveling together (which we've done a lot of). Thank you, again!
